It didn’t take the Martin girls’ basketball team long to establish their dominance on the floor during a SAC North Division game against Bloomingdale on Friday, Feb. 13, as they cruised to a 45-25 win.
With one quarter in the books, the Clippers were sailing along with a 15-4 lead, six of those points courtesy of the strong play from post player Jazmin Hildebrand who finished with a game-high 15.
“We always play to get off to a good start,” said Martin coach Doug MacVean. “We like to go inside to Jasmine and Cassidy (Beazley) as much as we can, but they started dropping off on Jasmine so this opened it up for others.”
Hildebrand knew what to do once the trapping inside began.
She said, “They were falling back on me when I got the ball especially after I scored a couple of baskets,” Hildebrand said. “But we did a good job of getting the ball out to the perimeter and the team put together some good shots.”
