TRI Allegan returns for fourth year
For the fourth straight year, Allegan’s Littlejohn Lake County Park will be the site of the TRI Allegan sprint triathlon.
And despite the passage of time, organizer Misty Angle said the excitement surrounding the event only continues to grow.
“We’ve again seen a lot of activity around Allegan from runners, bikers and swimmers who are training for this,” Angle said of TRI Allegan, which is hosted by the Allegan All-Sport Boosters Club. “My favorite part of hosting this triathlon is knowing someone is being inspired. Someone out there is watching another athlete prepare for this and thinking, ‘Maybe I could do that.’
“Our committee is looking forward to hosting this event and having every athlete, from the first-timer to the pro, have a great experience.”
TRI Allegan is slated for Tuesday, July 22, with registration beginning at 3 p.m. The event—which features a 500-meter swim, a 14-mile bike and a 5K run—will begin at approximately 6 p.m.
