Most state Senate candidates gather next week for meet-and-greet
DOUGLAS—All but one candidate for the Michigan Senate 26th District will attend a meet-and-greet Thursday, July 19, at the Old Schoolhouse in downtown Douglas from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The event was organized by the League of Women Voters of Holland.
Three republicans, one democrat and one libertarian are running for the seat is being vacated by Republican Tonya Schuitmaker, who cannot maintain her seat due to term limits.
Those who have agreed to attend this informal event include Republicans Don Wickstra and Aric Nesbitt, Democrat Garnet Lewis and Libertarian Erwin Hass. The league press release did not say whether or not Republican Bob Genetski would attend.
This event is free to the public as part of the League of Women Voters’ efforts to inform voters before the Aug. 7 primary.
