Leslie (Dale) Winter, 85

Leslie (Dale) Winter, 85, of Saugatuck died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Holland Community Hospital.
Dale was active in the Saugatuck School system teaching, coaching basketball, past athletic director as well as driver education instructor.
Dale was also an instructor in the co-op trade program building homes in the Holland, Saugatuck and Douglas area.
He was a former Lions Club member, member of the First Congregational Church of Saugatuck and was also a member of the Butler Street Boys Club.
For years Dale served as a volunteer firefighter with the Saugatuck Township Fire Department.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife Edith Winter in 2013.
He is survived by his children, Bruce (Alicia) Winter of Mahomet, Ill., Jane (Gregory) Clark of Peoria Ill., William (Kathryn) Winter of Saugatuck and Robert (Stephanie) Winter of Parchment; grandchildren, Erin, Allison (Matthew) Crapse, Nathan, Alex, Garrett, William, Maggie Sue and Lucas; as well as a sister Ioma Adams of Markesan, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Road, Douglas, with the Revs. Dan Miller and Bruce Vander Kolk officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St., Holland.
