Patricia F. Pera, 88

Patricia F. Pera, 88, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Gary, Ind., and Fennville, passed away Nov. 24, 2015. She was born April 4, 1927, in Kalamazoo, to Raymond and Beulah (Carpenter) Fisher.
She received her associates degree of nursing from Indiana University Northwest and a bachelor's degree of nursing from the University of St. Francis. She engaged in a nursing career for more than 30 years, being employed at Gary Methodist Hospital and Holland Hospital.
Patricia had been a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Gary, Ind., All Saints Episcopal Church in Saugatuck, where she proudly served as parish nurse, and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Valparaiso, Ind.
She served as executive director of the Gary YWCA and freely gave of her time and talent as a volunteer to many charities in Northwest Indiana and the Saugatuck area.
On Nov, 24, 1948, she married Norman J. Pera who preceded her in death in 2006.  
Survivors include their sons, David (Jonni) Pera of Valparaiso, Ind., John Pera of Crown Point, Ind., Timothy (Kathleen) Pera of St. Paul, Minn., Mark (Leslie) Pera of Chicago, Ill. and Thomas Pera (Beatrice) of Cary, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at All Saints Episcopal Church in Saugatuck on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m., with interment at Plummerville Cemetery near Fennville.  
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, Saugatuck, or St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Valparaiso, Ind.
