Douglas L. Gardiner, 70
Douglas L. Gardiner, 70, of Allegan died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Doug was born May 24, 1944, in Liberal, Kan., the son of Earl and Marie (VanBuskirk) Gardiner.
Doug was a great son, father, grandfather and friend. He was very supportive and encouraged his children to be passionate about whatever they did. He loved the simple things in life, coffee with friends, golf, cribbage, fishing, winters in Arizona, and taking time for friends and family.
Doug retired from General Motors in Kalamazoo in 1996, with more than 30 years of service. Later in life Doug came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and found great comfort as he battled cancer. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
