Esta May Thompson, 83

Esta May Thompson, 83, of Fennville passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Resthaven Care Center in Holland. Born Dec. 28, 1931, in Fennville, she was the daughter of Carl and Ruby (Bushee) Anderson.
Esta graduated from Fennville High School in 1949. She and her husband owned a service station in Fennville and a dairy farm in Bravo for many years. She attended the Pearl Church, Pearl Ladies Aid and was Clyde Township Treasurer for eight years.
Esta enjoyed gardening, working with the Girl Scouts, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Thompson in 2001; son Kevin Thompson in 1984, and grandson Bryce Field in 1988.
Surviving are her children, Kirk Thompson and Karen Knight of Fennville, Kyle and Keri Thompson of Fennville, Connie and Ted Swinger of Grand Rapids, Christie and Joel Cook of Fennville, Cindy and Bob Birtles of Holland, Carolyn Field of Jenison and Carla and Joe Zblewski of Allegan; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral services will Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m., at Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary Peterson and the Rev. Mark Douglas. Burial will be in Pearl Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Pearl United Methodist Church, Bravo Christian Reformed Church or The Day Center of Evergreen.
