George DeHaan, 83
George DeHaan, 83, of Allegan died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
George was born July 13, 1931, in Comstock the son of John and Engeltje (DeVries) DeHaan. He worked for more than 25 years in Allegan at Rockwell. He loved to work with his hands. Woodworking and making arts and crafts were his hobbies. He also loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing and traveling into northern Michigan.
Surviving are his six children, Rodney and Janis DeHaan, Yvonne and Dave Reimink, Tim and Sue DeHaan, Mike DeHaan and Sue Sebright, Marc DeHaan and Jan Rice and Kathy and Scott Groenewoud; daughter-in-law Michele DeHaan; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; his companion for many years Eunice Oisten; his brother Harold and Leona DeHaan; his sister Angeline and Jerry DeBoer; sister-in-law Bernice DeHaan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine; son Randy; granddaughter Denise; three brothers, John, Egbert and Ralph; and sister Johanna.
Graveside services will be Monday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Township.
