James Walter Pyle, 58

James Walter Pyle, 58, of Gobles passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 21, 2014, surrounded by loved ones as his Western Michigan Episcopal Cursillo community sang him joyfully in to heaven.
He was an active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Plainwell and was known by his many friends and family as a big man with a big heart. Always ready to lend a hand, he was a true servant of Christ.
Jim loved boating, fishing, the Western Michigan Episcopal Cursillo and especially spending time with family and friends.
Jim grew up in Kalamazoo as one of 11 children born to John and Norma Pyle. He was previously employed by the Stamos family, Timber Ridge Ski Resort, Flashes Publishers and Murco company.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Himmelein) Pyle; his children, Edith "Edye," son James "Jimmy" and stepson William "Billy" Jundzilo; his sisters, Connie (Gene) Dexter of Jackson, Carol (John) Deschermeier of Bay City, Coleen (James) Henry of Venice Fla., Amy (Dennis) Lemmer of Portage and Cindy Slack (Pyle) of Kalamazoo; his brothers, Ben (Sue) of Kalamazoo, Steve (Evie) of Parchment, Scott (Denise) of Climax, Peter (Cheryl) of Allegan. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law and special friend Ann Stough, his father-in-law Theodore (Leona) Stough, sister-in-law Kandi Gibson and brother-in-law Scott Himmelein, all of Allegan; daughter-in-law Heather Sutton and grandsons Luke, Cole, Jake and Kane of Byrnedale, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother John Howard Pyle Jr., his father the Rev. John Howard Pyle and his mother Norma Margaret Pyle.
Jim's kind spirit touched many during his life. His long battle for health was fought with courage and grace. He will be greatly missed. Philippians 1:21.
A celebration of life memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at St Timothy's Church in Richland.
