Kenneth LaVerne Plotts, 100
Kenneth LaVerne Plotts, 100, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015. He was born in Kalamazoo on Aug. 1, 1914, the son of Fred and Mary Elizabeth (Tyler) Plotts.
He married Olga (Wittenberg) Plotts who preceded him in death. He then married Elsie (Krull) Plotts who also preceded him in death. He worked for the Kalamazoo Stove Co. and Persons Inc.
He was an ardent auto racing fan and attended the Indy 500 for 61 years. He saw every race since 1935. He also loved hunting and fishing and devoted a great deal of time to them. He was a Golden Eagle (526 area).
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister Lucille Rapp Rich; his daughter Marilyn Werner, her husband Ronald Werner and her mother Grace (Meyer) Sanford; and his niece Maxine Mortensen.
He is survived by his stepson Vern (Aurelia) Reed; grandson Terry (Susie) Vogt; granddaughters, Lacy and Chelsie Vogt; his nephew Bob (Judy) Rapp; and grandsons, Keith (Stephanie) Reed, Scott Reed and their families.
At his request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.,
