Lois B. O'Connell, 78

Lois B. O'Connell, 78, of Allegan passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, in Plainwell.  She was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Allegan the daughter of Edward and Loretta (Welling) Weber.  
Lois was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  
Lois is survived by her children, Deborah (Doug) Hoffman, Sally (Jim) DeBruyn, James (Jay) O'Connell and Paul O'Connell; her seven grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ethel Flynn, Rita Allerding, Mary (Jerry) Holtof and Margaret (Bill) Bailey; several nieces and nephew; and her grand-dog April.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; and her sisters, Florence Haas, Evelyn Swope and Dorothy Opas.  
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.  The funeral mass will be Friday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Allegan. Celebrant is the Rev. Alan P. Jorgensen. Inurnment will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery, Allegan.  
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL  60674 and/or Good Samaritan's, 110 N. Cedar St., Allegan, MI  49010. Arrangements are being provided by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel,  www.gordenfuneral.com.
