Roberta Hoyt, 90
Roberta Hoyt, 90, of Allegan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Wings Home surrounded by her family. Roberta was born in Bloomingdale on Sept. 8, 1924, and raised on her family's farm.
Roberta was a great daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved gardening and flower arranging. She was an avid baker and won blue ribbons at the Allegan County Fair for her rolls and pies. She loved nature and enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife around her home. She loved her walks with her neighbors. She loved reading.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was involved in the ladies fellowship for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Charles and Rena Pease.
Roberta is survived by her husband Robert, the love of her life for 70 years; her three children, Sandy Carlson, Kathy and Daryl Knight and Judy and Dave Selent; her seven grandchildren, Angela, Scott, Becky, Kristy, Carrie, Cory and Brandon; her seven great-grandchildren, Bryn, John, Jacob, Ethan, Riley, Mina, and Max.
Roberta's family would like to invite people to visit with them on Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, 528 Trowbridge St., Allegan. The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Allegan, 323 Cutler Street, Allegan. Pastor Barry Lucas will be officiating.
