Fennville: Fantastic Fossils
FENNVILLE: Fennville District Library, 400 W. Main St., will offer summer reading activities starting Monday, July 9, with the “Fantastic Fossils” family science program at 1 p.m. Youth can also make recycled CD art Monday, July 16, at 3 p.m.
The library will also host summer program favorite Inventor’s Day, with crafting and maker materials on Thursday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Special presenters this month include:
• Thursday, July 12, will feature Drummunity, a community drumming experience for all ages, at 2 p.m.
Drummunity, a combination of the words drumming and community, is a hands-on experience with no prior drumming experience necessary. Facilitator Lori Fithian will lead participants in drumming experiences and games using her collection of hand drums and percussion instruments.
• Wednesday, July 18, Maciek the Magician will perform at 10:30 a.m.
Maciek Biezunski is an award-winning magician who will bring his energetic style to the stage.
• Friday, July 27, the Binder Park Zoomobile will visit the library at 10:30 a.m. with a collection of live animals.
Regular library programming continues in July with Tuesday story times for children ages 2 to 8 at 1 p.m. on July 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Reader’s Theater Club meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on July 13 for children ages 6 to 12.
Anime Movie Night for teens and adults is Monday, July 23, at 5:30 p.m.
The adult knitting group meets Monday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m., and the library book club will meet on Wednesday, July 11, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss “American Radical” by Tamer Elnoury.
