MARTIN: Library Harry Potter movie
JC Wheeler Public Library in Martin is devoting October to a Harry Potter reading program.
The library will kick things off with a Potter Party on Saturday, Oct. 5, starting at 9 a.m. Guests will be assigned to a wizarding house and start earning points for their house throughout the month. Signup begins Oct. 1.
“There will be a lot of different ways you can earn points,” said library director Alicia Kershaw. “We’ll also be watching all the movies here at the library.”
Young readers can earn points for their house by reading books, attending the movie viewings and other library events—such as the “Horcrux Hunt”—as well as donating to a non-perishable food goods collection and donating craft supplies for the library.
A viewing of the first movie in the series, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” will begin at 10 a.m.
