Saugatuck boys’ track cruises to regional crown
Graduation took a serious toll on the Saugatuck boys’ track team.
How serious? Well, the Indians lost 50.5 of the 58 points they earned to claim the Division 4 state championship a year ago.
Despite that, the Indians are proving they are once again a force with which to be reckoned.
Saugatuck racked up 167.5 points to finish 80 points ahead of Muskegon Catholic Central and claim a Division 4 regional title on Friday, May 16.
“I’m just so happy for the kids,” Bauer said. “They work really hard and it’s nice to see that hard work pay off. I think winning this title after the loss of all those points from a year ago speaks to the leadership on this team.”
