Joel Timmel of Saugatuck

Joel Timmel, owner of the Timmel Gallery in Saugatuck, passed away on June 22, 2014, at his home surrounded by his beloved three dogs and life partner, Rocky Kruithoff.
A native of Oconomowoc, Wisc., Mr. Timmel was a successful entrepreneur and owned art galleries in Naples, Fla. and Saugatuck.
After moving to the Saugatuck area, he was involved in numerous local organizations and for many years hosted the Chamber Music Summer Benefit at his gallery.
Very quietly, and often behind the scenes, he was a generous supporter of many organizations in the area. He loved to garden, read, cook, entertain for his friends and lovingly care for his three dogs-Ouzo, Rocko and Buster.
A memorial service will be at All Saints' Episcopal Church at the corner of Hoffman and Grand Streets in Saugatuck, on Sunday, July 20, at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, it was Joel's wish that contributions be made to All Saints' Endowment Fund.
Arrangements are being provided by Dykstra Funeral Home-Saugatuck Chapel.
