Roger Bruce Clausen, 73

Roger Bruce Clausen, 73, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 21,  2015. He was comforted by his good friends Bill and Dena Giller at the time of his passing.
Roger is survived by his brother Kenneth Clausen and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 31, 1941. He was the fourth child of Simon and Agnita Clausen and brother to Warren, Muriel and Kenneth.
Roger grew up in White Bear Lake, Minn. He moved to California and lived there for several years before moving to Michigan.  
Roger was an engineer for the Howard Miller Clock company for many years, later changing careers as an engineer for Whirlpool where he was responsible for the patent of the agitator in washing machines.  
Roger was a bachelor and he lived life for all it's worth. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved to travel, camp and hunt. He made several trips to Africa and brought home many trophies of wild game.
Roger was a good, kind, generous man. He was well read and enjoyed intellectual conversations solving the world's problems. He had numerous friends with whom he loved spending time and was known for his larger than life parties that were open to all.   
A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Road, Douglas. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.  
Memorial contributions may be made in Roger's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Holland.
