Plainwell: Papermaking

PLAINWELL—As part of Plainwell’s recognition of its 150th year, youth are invited to try out their hand at making paper at Ransom District Library on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Patron can drop in any time to the demonstration, led by the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center. A former employee of the Plainwell Paper Company will also be on hand to talk about how paper was made in the mill. Youth may make a sheet or two of handmade paper to take home. Kids of all ages are welcome, but preschoolers will need adult help.
