Local school seek millages

Otsego and Plainwell voters will both be asked to renew their school district’s operating millages at the Tuesday, May 6, election.

At a recent Plainwell school board meeting, school officials discussed strategy for informing the public about the vote.

“We have to get the word out about what it is and what it is not,” Superintendent Susan Wakefield said.

The last day to register to vote in the election is Monday, April 7, at 5 p.m.

Otsego is asking for a 10-year term on the millage and Plainwell is asking for 12 years. Both last approved operating millages in 2005.
