Wayland: Main Street Celebration
WAYLAND—A community celebration marking downtown Wayland’s eighth anniversary as a Michigan Main Street Community is Friday, July 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, July 15, from 12 to 6 p.m.
Friday night will feature food vendors and beer tents and ‘80’s and ‘90’s hits performed by the Electric Red and The RockShow. Dressing up in ‘80s and ‘90s clothing is highly encouraged.
The first ever Wildcat Mile is also set for Friday night at 8 p.m. Proceeds from this fundraising run will help Wayland Cross Country team members go to summer camp.
Day two kicks off on Saturday with a pre-program pancake breakfast at the Wayland Fire Department from 7 to 10:30 a.m. After breakfast, attendees can go to Wayland City Park for the AutoBody Xperts Summer Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
There’s something for everyone with free kids activities, local artists and food vendors filling up the streets of downtown Wayland from 12 to 6 p.m.
Day two also features a full entertainment lineup with performances by DJ SweebeNation, the Hard Times Band, Dee Jay the Clown and the Wayland Union High School Jazz Band. Kari Lynch, a national recording country artist and West Michigan native will headline this year’s celebrations.
